Greetings!

Welcome to Nancy Grayson Elementary School. NGES is one of four elementary schools in the Shippensburg Area School District. Our school has approximately 450 students in kindergarten through third grade. We are so glad you are visiting our web site, and we hope it will help you get to know our school.

A warm and welcoming atmosphere, dedicated staff, and a variety of cultures that represent our community make NGES a wonderful place to teach and to learn. NGES is fortunate to have veteran teachers and experienced classroom assistants providing children with positive and higher-levels of thinking, learning and social interactions. The parents and the whole community play an important part in helping our school to meet goals and maintain high academic standards. We are fortunate to have such a great support system.

The PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) works tirelessly to support our school in countless ways, including financial support through fundraising, providing enrichment activities such as regular assemblies and field trip opportunities, sponsoring community events like the annual Book Fair, WINGS end of year celebration, and volunteering. Parents are strongly encouraged to become involved in the school. When parents attend school functions, they demonstrate to their children that they value school and education.

The school community stays informed about school policies, procedures, academics, and events through a variety of channels. During the year, information is provided by the use of the Student Handbook, classroom notices, the PTO Newsletter, announcements on Facebook, our district web site, and the Connect-Ed media system.

We can fulfill our school’s vision when we work as an educational learning community. I know you will find that by working together we can establish the highest quality educational program for our children.
