Intermediate School Principal

Teri Mowery

The Intermediate School serves approximately 500 students in grades 4 and 5. Students are instructed in core areas of ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies, as well as specials classes of Art, Music, Physical Education/Health, Library and Technology.

Our curriculum focuses on many basics and mechanics of the core subjects, and also encourages application of facts and problem solving. Students participate in whole group, small group and individual work daily. Our goal is to meet each student at their instructional level and encourage academic growth for all students.

Students have the opportunity to participate in extra curricular activities at SAIS. Band, Orchestra, Chorus and Student Council are available. Activities such as Girls on the Run, Student Council sponsored events and spirit days are available for students as well.

The SAIS PTO supports our school by sponsoring many activities during the school year, such as Winterfest, assisting with Sports Night and the SAIS School Store.  We encourage parents to get involved with the PTO!

Our hope is that each student is eager to attend school each day and experience success.  Our teachers and staff are caring, compassionate educators that have the student’s best interests at heart.  We strive to create inclusive, positive and engaging learning activities daily.  We look forward to working with families to promote positive school and home relationships!

Sincerely,

Teri Mowery
